To celebrate Mickey and Minnie’s 90th birthday, Disneyland has released exclusive merch, special parades, and night shows. But the star of the show really is the food. With an overwhelming 50+ one-of-a-kind eats to choose from, I’ve compiled the nine best items at the festival.
This cupcake is not at all what I expected in the best way possible. I assumed it was a chocolate chip cookie flavored cupcake but it’s actually a chocolate chip cookie the size and shape of a cupcake, with a crunchy exterior and soft, slightly underbaked interior topped with a mountain of buttercream on top. That’s literally the dessert of my dreams. This cookie is available at multiple locations around Toon Town, including Daisy’s Diner, Pluto’s Dog House, and Clarabelle’s.
Clarabelle’s is also featuring adorable Minnie and Mickey sundaes with Oreo ears for the celebration.
Castle Donut Cart
The Disneyland Donut Cart in front of the castle is one of the most underrated spots for adorable snacks in the park. In addition to the Pink Lemonade Minnie & Chocolate Buttercream Mickey donuts, they also have unique offerings like a Caramel Coconut and Lemon Meringue donuts that rotate frequently. Schoozies in DCA also has Minnie & Mickey donuts, but these ones really take the cake.
Jolly Holiday Bakery
Who can resist this notstalgic Mickey Mouse Club Hat, especally in chocolate form. Underneath the chocolate hat is a creme brulee center. If you are saving your dessert for later, try the specialty toasted cheese sandwich. I’ve talked about Jolly Holiday’s cheese sandwiches in the past and this one is funky in the best way, with blackberry jam and bacon.
Stage Door Cafe
Disneyland is know for thier outrageous specialty funnel cakes, both at Stage Door and Hungry Bear. The Strawberry Cheesecake Funnel of Love is no exception. It’s piled high with a cheesecake filling, cheesecake bites, strawberries, whipped cream, and, of course, a chocolate Minnie bow.
If you are as obsessed with cheese as I am, you’re probably asked for “more cheese, please” at some point in. For the Get Your Ears On Celebration, Award Weiner’s famous filmstrip fries are loaded up with mac and cheese and cheese curds and dusted with hot cheeots for the More Cheese Please Fries.
If you aren’t feelin’ cheesy or have more of a sweet tooth, Disney’s famous funnel cakes get a little makeover in fry form for the Funnel Cake fries with either Oreo or birthday cake toppings.
Clarabelle’s Ice Cream
Clarabelle’s Hand-dipped Ice Cream Bars have always been amazing, but these Minnie and Mickey Bars are next level adorable. If that isn’t enough, try the Minnie or Mickey kitchen sink sundae in the cutest souvineer bowl ever.
Continuing with the Oreo trend, Schmoozie’s Instagram-worthy Mickey shake is definitley worth a try. The brain freeze (and even lactose intolerant reaction) are totally worth it.
Smokejumper’s Share Your Ears Burger, with two adorable sliders on top of their classic cheeseburger, is definitely shareable with the added benefit of the toppings bar so everyone can customize their burgers with as much or as little as they like. Definitely don’t miss the signature smoky sauce and if you order onion rings, as for extra sauce on the side for dipping.
Also keep an eye out for their confetti cake shake. It isn’t as cute as the Schmoozie’s Mickey shake, but the flavor is next level with actual chunks of cake and icing mixed in.
